Every fifth year thousands of professional historians participate in the International Congress of Historical Sciences. By bringing together historians working in many different fields these Congresses offer an opportunity to assess the state and direction of their discipline. The ICHS has chosen Oslo, the capital of Norway, to host the 19th International Congress of Historical Sciences 6-13 August 2000.

The Oslo Congress will offer an extensive academic programme, as well as a multi-faced culture- and tour-programme, so please check back often for updates and information.
